SA918-605 Directional Antenna System

The SA918 Directional Antenna System enhances performance of the ECM605 mobile phone jammer.

Using The SA918-605 assembly in conjunction with the ECM605 unit extends the effective range from 20 to 80 metres.

The directional panel antenna creates a 9dBi gain which boosts the effective signal strength by a factor 3 with no extra battery usage.

The assembly includes a standard camera fixing allowing it to be attached to a normal photographic tripod.

Offices

For small meeting rooms which need protecting against mobile phone useage, the small omni-directional antenna may be sufficient. However if there are powerful base stations nearby, the radiated power of the ECM605 may need to be increased. Positioning the SA918-605 assembly and its associated 605 at one end of the room may provide the necessary increase in performance to counter the strong network signal.

The directionality of the SA918 antenna also allows the countermeasure signal to be more tightly controlled. In a highrise office block, with a meeting room on say the 6th floor, the antenna will allow that room to be protected without adversely affecting areas above and below the room. The transmit pattern is generally approximately ± 30o horizontally as well as vertical.

Prisons

If prison security staff identify that a mobile phone is being used in a specific cell but repeated searches are unable to located the phone, directional jamming can prove to be extremely useful. The suspect cell can be targetted by this system which will eventually force the occupant to have to move and use the phone in another location. The act of relocating the phone makes it easier for security staff to intercept.
